Island Analysis

INTRODUCTION

Island Analysis provides research and benchmarking services for island public and private sector organisations. The advantage of being island-based, gives the company first-hand experience in identifying, analysing and dealing with island issues. This enables it to apply innovative, practical and, above all, cost effective solutions to a diverse range of island related challenges. These challenges are common to all islands wherever their location.

ISLAND BENCHMARKING AND BEST PRACTICE

Every organisation, whatever its island interests, needs to be aware of latest trends and to be in a position to adopt well-researched and proven strategies at every opportunity. Significant benefits (e.g. minimising risk and maximising the effective use of resources) can be derived if both public and private sector bodies within one island are aware of the knowledge and experience gained by similar organisations located in other island communities.

By constantly collecting and analysing latest island economic, social and environmental data, as well as existing strategies and policies, Island Analysis has already built up a unique island information resource covering 85 islands worldwide. At the same time, it is constantly identifying island best practice to see whether such best practice can be adopted in other island contexts for the benefit of that community as a whole.

RESEARCH AND CONSULTANCY

Island public and private sector organisations need accurate information upon which to support strategic and operational planning. Island Analysis provides one-off or ongoing research and analysis resources to enable clear and accurate decision-making to take place within the island context.

Businesses are constantly deciding whether or not to invest in island projects. Island Analysis is able to carry out ‘tailor-made’ feasibility studies on worldwide island locations which take account of all the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of those locations as well as making objective comparisons with other similar islands.
